IDEA joins forces with Chinese investment giant Fosun to provide corporate communications support
IDEA Communication has secured a partnership with the Chinese international conglomerate Fosun, in what represents a major coup for the Singapore-based communications agency, headed by visionary founder Helena Ma. Founded in 2016, IDEA has seen considerable success in a short span of time, having worked with brands such as Volvo Cars, Kronaby, Chinese co-working space giant UCommune, and numerous others.
Fosun is a major player in the global investments market, with total assets exceeding RMB 530 billion (US$ 81 billion) as of 31 December 2017 and a varied portfolio that spans three broad sectors: ‘Wealth’, ‘Health’, and ‘Happiness’. Fosun’s ‘Wealth’ arm includes Portugal’s largest insurance company Fidelidade, Portugal’s largest listed bank Banco Comercial Português (BCP), German private bank Hauck & Aufhäuser (H&A), Hong Kong-based Peak Reinsurance, as well as Mybank. Its ‘Health’ arm includes Fosun Pharma, Sinopharm, Fosun United Health Insurance, Portugal’s hospital chain Luz Saúde, and Indian pharmaceutical company Gland Pharma. Finally, major brands under Fosun’s ‘Happiness’ arm include Club Med, one of the world’s premier tourism companies, and Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, a team in the English Premier League, the most-watched football league in the world. Fosun’s ultimate vision is to provide customers with an integrated ‘one-stop’ solution encompassing wealth, health, and happiness.
IDEA will bring its considerable expertise to bear in the development of corporate communications strategy for Fosun, overseeing direction, implementation and execution. IDEA will be responsible for creating a brand message that resonates not only with Fosun’s customers, but also its employees at every level within the organisation – thus helping to inculcate a company-wide culture of clear, consistent, and capable communication – a tool integral to any business, and in any sector.
“I am delighted to announce our tie-up with IDEA, an agency with a proven track record of success across multiple countries, industries and sectors,” said Chen Bo, Fosun’s head of public affairs. “We envisage that IDEA’s global experience, business acumen, and journalistic prowess will prove invaluable in adding fresh impetus and expertise to Fosun’s corporate communications strategy.”
Helena Ma, managing director of IDEA Communication, added, “At IDEA, we believe that successful corporate communications and PR can only be brought about with a keen understanding of how existing and emerging channels can be best utilized to craft brand messages that are compelling and resonate with target audiences. As much as IDEA’s expertise will benefit Fosun, however, the inverse is also true – IDEA has much to learn from a successful global business such as Fosun, and I am excited to see how we can grow together.”
